We were a bit busy last few weeks closing in on production for UnSmudge. Assembly and Packing are next steps. Currently we are working on paperwork for importing the product. We need a clearance for the cleaning liquid.
Other than that, we are getting closer to the delivery. Once the paperwork for the product is in place, we will send out an email to lock your address.

Folks, first of all thank you for your patience. We did make a good progress in the last few weeks. Please do check out the molds and tolerance testing iterations.
I know they are not the most flattering of the pictures. We are positive we can do a lot better with actual product. We had to make minor adjustments to accommodate material expansion. We need to iterate it a couple of times to get it right and have them snug-fit with each other.
These two weeks will be interesting for us as we are testing them with different fabric options. I'll keep you posted with new pics and developments.

Thank you for your patience and your trust in UnSmudge. We come with encouraging news. We spent our summer with Design Engineers at our Manufacturers’ Labs improving UnSmudge’s design to better the functionality, ergonomics and aesthetics. There were numerous back-and-forths with design engineers figuring out material dynamics. After a number of simulations for repeated stress tests for parts like U-fork, microfiber pads, Shell cover that cleans phone surfaces etc. on various kinds of materials, we zeroed in on the mold materials and moved on to mold-making.
Next step is to get the molds ready. As we are aiming for high precision and smooth surface finish, we are going for Stainless Steel molds. Believe it or not - the industry gave it a name and it is called - 420 MQ Plastic Mold Steel. We will pause for a few seconds to get the humor and irony out of the way.
It is a highly-refined, mold quality stainless steel that is engineered to exhibit excellent polishability, good corrosion resistance, and good wear resistance. 420 MQ is melted using an electric-arc furnace, is refined by the argon-oxygen-decarburization (AOD) process, and is further enhanced to aerospace quality levels using Vacuum- Arc or Electro-Slag Remelting.
One good thing is we were able to sort out the cleaning liquid order backlog. COVID-19 put many cleaning liquid manufacturers busy. But we were able to place our order albeit losing some time in waiting. Once we have the molds ready, we will step into the initial batch of production to double check functionality and eliminate any blind spots. Hopefully we can post some pictures next time.

Folks, hope everyone is doing fine.
Last 6 weeks were quite eventful for us with some great progress with our DTM (Design to Manufacture) designs and material procurement. Considering the pandemic, our manufacturers are really responsive and working diligently and making progress to bring UnSmudge into existence. Our tooling is shaping up well. Once we have the tooling in place in coming weeks, we will run an initial batch to make sure all the parts are coming together as expected. Securing the cleaning liquid in the bottle is our top priority once we have the initial batch.
About cleaning liquid:
As there is a huge spike in demand for cleaning liquid across the world, manufacturers are swamped with massive orders. And because of this, we are facing a longer-than-expected wait time from the manufacturers. However, we are planning such a way that we get other parts in place without losing any time waiting for cleaning liquid.
Also, we are looking for a few testers for UnSmudge. Once we have a batch that we think is ready for testing, we will send out an email on how to participate. We are looking for feedback on functionality, ease-of-use, portability, and ergonomics. Considering the shipping costs, we are restricting it to just the USA backers. (Sorry).
